In Winston-Salem, popular practices book routine cleanings weeks ahead, so call early or ask to be put on a cancellation list; emergency and walk-in clinics are the exception. Across North Carolina, a new-patient exam with X-rays and a cleaning typically runs from about $150 to $350 without insurance, and many offices publish new-patient specials on their websites. Check the listing for hours, whether the office takes your insurance or Medicaid, languages spoken, wheelchair access and parking, then confirm by phone: insurance networks and providers change more often than the listings do.

Hours are published for 5 days a week. Typical hours are 8 am–5 pm. Note that it does not open on Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. Winston-Salem is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Winston-Salem follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I had a tooth that broke in half, and despite my dentist being totally booked, they managed to get me in the next day. The practice is clean and the equipment is state of the art.

Leaning toward not reviewing because I know I’ll just get a snide reply from the practice, but being brave here to help others. PLEASE do not utilize Dr. Lewis for ANY type of dental procedure that is not a routine check-up. I was scheduled for a crown after she acted like I probably didn’t need one months earlier (to find out later from a second opinion that cracked teeth should immediately have a crown placed). Dr. Lewis barely numbed my mouth and was intensely rough and not compassionate in the process; starting drilling my tooth; I could feel it all; she jabbed the needle back in; drilled some more; I could still feel it; she declares β€œcome back after you have a root canal” and sends me out the door with a partially-drilled tooth and an antibiotic prescription. IN FACT, I did NOT need a root canal β€” my NEW, WONDERFUL dentist elsewhere in town coordinated care with an endodontist who tested me and stated I had REVERSIBLE pulpitis (opposite of what Dr. Lewis said). I had a phenomenal, PAIN-FREE crown procedure with a new dentist in town this week. Through that beautiful experience, I learned that Dr. Lewis’ abrupt and rough manner with numbing is not status quo. UDA has become HU

I had my first visit this past week. I saw Dr. Lewis for the initial exam and then came back several days later for my cleaning. I loved Dr. Lewis. She, and her assistant, were very friendly. Every was explained and all my questions were answered. I was not as impressed with the hygienist. I believe her name was Denise. First, my appointment was for 8 AM and it was almost 8:15 before I was called back. And while she was very friendly, explained things well, and did an okay job cleaning my teeth, she was not very organized or prepared to start her day. She had to leave the room several times to get things she had forgotten or had not been resupplied in the room. Also, I have one artificial tooth that I had removed. I was sitting there holding the tooth as she finally prepared to start and she asked if I wanted to continue to hold the tooth or would I like it cleaned. My prior dentist/hygienist never asked, she just took the tooth and put it into the cleaning solution. My other comment is about the quantity of text and email reminders that are sent. I stopped text messages, but I guess that cancelled all emails as well. I scheduled my next appointment before I left. I was not given

I’ve been a patient at UDA for the past 20 years. Last year they called a couple of days before my scheduled appointment and told me the hygienist was going on leave that week and I needed to reschedule my appointment. I rescheduled, but the appointment didn’t fit my schedule. This year same called with same excuse, the hygienist is going to be on leave. I was notified on Friday afternoon for an appointment on the following Tuesday. I requested this appointment a year ago! The best appointment they offered was in JULY! This will my last conversation with UDA, I won’t be back. Their location looks like it in an old grocery store. Major step down from COMP REPHAB!

Would have been nice to be notified of the move. My appointment was at 4, I called because I was running late but knew I would make it within the grace period today. When I arrived at 4:06 I noticed the office was dark, I called again and spoke with an associate and asked when they had moved. She told me a few months ago. I did not remember recieving anything regarding a move so I asked if she thought I could still make my appointment because I was unaware of the move, she said I don't know i didn't work here before the move with a little attitude then told me she would have to reschedule. If youre going to move your location you should have informed your patients who have been your patients for years. And also answer the phone so it doesn't just ring and ring when someone calls. Changing your greeting when someone calls your office would help as well.
